I feel very fortunate to have found Endorphin and the truly wonderful and caring teachers and staff here. I have been a caregiver for my parents for many years (my Dad had cancer, and was a neck-breather, and my Mom had a large, inoperable brain tumor and needed me to do everything for her). They required 24/7 care, and I didn’t want to put them in a home, so about ten years ago, I quit my job, and took care of them. They are both gone now (my Mom passed away last year on April Fool’s Day – she was always tricking me, so I guess it was just like her to leave me on that day!) After my caregiving was no longer needed, I was feeling very lost and alone for a long time, and I didn’t do anything except sit at home, watching TV all day, and experiencing some pretty bad depression. Then I finally decided that I needed to try and get out, and start my life over. Which has proved to be pretty difficult, but also awesome! I took a couple of cycling classes with Brandon Harkey, and Warriors for Veterans with Nick Spinosa, and I was hooked!
I have taken several classes with other great Endorphin teachers as well, and it has truly changed my life. Every class I take makes me eagerly anticipate the next one. My body is sometimes sore and stiff the next day, but my mind is always telling to get on with the next class! Working out at Endorphin has made every other part of my life better, and life is looking more and more awesome with each new day. There was a time when I thought my life was over, but I don’t think that way anymore. Life is new and fresh and exciting. Life for me is often a challenge, but I know with the help of Endorphin’s awesome teachers and cool staff, I will win. Thank you, Endorphin!
